MLK Day can be fun

Today I was lucky enough to have off from work in honor of Martin Luther King Day. Most of my friends had to work or had other things to do so I set off on a "journey" by myself & took a few random pictures along the way.

I woke up after a strange night of restless sleep.
Next I studied for the GMAT...studying for the math section makes me feel soo stupid
After that I showered and ate lunch...it was quite delicious
Next I made my way down to South Side Works to go to the bookstore at the bottom of my hill.

This is a creepy abandon house on the slopes near my apt that I pass whenever I go down to the Works

I spent a while at the "Jo-Beths" bookstore with out much luck of finding a good work of fiction that caught my attention. I did however find an art book by Miranda July called "Learning to Love You More". It was a really interesting read but I've already made it through the whole book so I think I might return it.

I went to the Beehive next. My mocha was unfortunately a little off...I'm not sure what she did wrong. I tipped her anyway. After my disappointing caffeine boost I hopped on a bus and headed to Oakland.

I decided to check out the Carnegie Museum of Art & Natural History. I hadn't been there since a 4th grade field trip and I have been feeling a little uncultured lately. I could have went to the museums for free when I was a pitt student and when I worked at the Carnegie library but now I had to shell out 11 bucks...damn this day is getting expensive.

Here's a picture from the new "Dinosaurs in their time" exhibit. It was pretty amazing except for the hoards of smelly children running around.

Mummified Kitty

I enjoyed this very random piece of retro-art.

After my musuem excursion I headed home. The moon was very bright

and I passed "Moldy Marry"

When I went home I had a martini and called it a day.
Pretty uneventful but that was how I spent my MLK day.

I like albums with vampires as a theme.
Say Hi To Your Mom- These Fangs
Say Hi To Your Mom- Blah Blah Blah

P.S. I recently watched Wet Hot American Summer with the special fart track feature...I recommenced everyone do the same.

Miranda July you say. She should have put a fart track on her film.
